My Shepdoog Art Showcase

 

Hey Everyone!!So I’m just going to dump some assets here that I worked on for our game project at AIE

Doog

So straight up, here is the main character of Shepdoog.
This model was initially meant to be for prototyping only, however it became the main 1st character after a new skin.

I also managed to do a bunch of dog animations along with this one here.

Sword

We decided to have a story line that would enable us to make a lot of assets to decorate the shepdoog worlds with, such as time travel!

I found myself working heavily on environmental set pieces, such as rocks, cliffs and foliage.

However I also assisted with texturing other team members assets and having them texture some of mine to speed up our builds.

This had us leaping ahead with amounts of assets for shepdoog very early, sharing textures and assisting each other in various ways.

newrockwaterarkedHere is a cliff face I spent (For the first time ever) a lot of time on, ‘Approx 5 hours’

I made variations of this texture and many others to make different looking environments.

The snowscape required the change of various assets being in place or not, such as pathways, flowers and such.walls

I also used the same texture on team mates models to ensure continuity of style and save time!

Bridge

This bridge was again not textured by me, however I based it around another models texture that Jack had made.

This ship had a lot of issue with its cannon holes however the end result was rather personally pleasing.

I found the entire project thus far has been a lot of fun and a great experience to work with others and learn various new things!

Chess Character!

 

So we recently were assigned a task to complete a chess character to complete for implementation into a game!

We were assembelled into teams divided by black and white chess pieces, black was one team and white was the other.

I found myself on the Black team, and it was decided by the groups to have the classic ‘good vs evil’. That was that, we then begun our concepts around the notion that evil was hellish, fiery and generally evil looking.

My Chess piece was a ‘Knight’. (The horsey one)

This has been the first time I design a character with a silhouette, I have learned it to be a very helpful method to practice!silo1silo3silo2

As I had a knight piece, I first thought that having the character on a horse would be an awesome idea, however in comparison to other peoples characters, it may have foced my piece to be rather tiny.

I then looked towards a typical knight like character, with hellish twists.knight_2Knight_hel3

Upon further thinking, it came to me, the idea that the knight piece has to jump over its enemies to attack its target or reach its destination, I also thought of how Lucifer was actually an angel, a fallen one at that, however my concepted idea may have come out much more angelic then anticipated, the idea was there..luciferdemon angelknight2_2

 

Although I loved the idea and concepts I completed, it turned out that the programming was goign to be skipping the whole ‘jump’ phase of the knight, thus completely destroying my idea.

I took another step back and just tried to make a character that was brutal and looked like a knight.

I then went to create a quick demon model

My end result was a model I built, sculpted, textured and rigged in about 5 hours, which was great, however it wasn’t what I initially hoped to achieve.
